Relationships

It’s perfectly natural to seek that splendid intimacy with another wherein we hope to find many things including unconditional love and companionship, mutual understanding and respect, and unyielding acceptance and support. But when we look for perfection – we are likely to be disappointed, likewise when we repeatedly fall into unhealthy relationship patterns – we are destined to fail. Relationships, like all of us, are at their very best “wondrously flawed” and finding a stable and healthy balance is key to it’s survival.

Relationships constantly grow, change and evolve - they take work. Healthy relationships take a lot of work. Considering that we all bring our complete selves into every relationship – the good and the not-so-good – it’s common sense that at times, things are going to get difficult. Whether you are stuck in conflicts and feel like you are always at odds with each other, feel like the passion and zeal has dwindled away, or even feeling as if you have both become strangers – it may be time to think about couples counseling. It’s true that not every relationship will last a lifetime, but knowing there is a problem and choosing to work on it brings you that much closer to a healthy one.
